Getting Started

A step-by-step guide to wirelessly pair your WiFi remote.

Create presets in WLED and assign them to S1–S4

For each button (S1, S2, S3, S4):

  • Set your LEDs how you want (color/effect/brightness).

  • Open Presets in WLED.

  • Tap + Preset (or “+ Preset”).

  • Give it a name.

  • In Save to ID, choose:

    • 1 = S1

    • 2 = S2

    • 3 = S3

    • 4 = S4

  • Tap Save.

Now pressing S1–S4 recalls those preset scenes.

How to Pair a Remote

  • Power on both the WLED controller and the remote.

  • In the App or Web UI, go to Config → Wi-Fi Setup.

  • Scroll to the bottom and locate the ESP-NOW Wireless section.

    • Tick the box for Enable ESP-NOW.

    • Click Save & Connect.

  • On the remote, press and hold any button for 1 second.

    • This broadcasts the remote’s MAC address to nearby devices.

  • Return to Wi-Fi Setup and scroll down.

  • Under Last Seen Device, the MAC address of the remote will appear.

  • Click on the detected MAC address.

    • It will auto-populate the text field.

    • If it doesn’t, enter the MAC address manually.

  • Click Save & Connect again to complete pairing.

Result

Once paired, the remote communicates with your WLED controller via ESP-NOW, letting you trigger presets, adjust brightness, and control effects wirelessly.
