Getting Started
Matrix Panel Orientation
Wiring Guides & Controller Settings
Before you start mounting, take a moment to plan your layout — getting the orientation right from the beginning will save a lot of time in the 2D config later.
2×4 Panels
Decide which wall the PCB side (labelled 1, 3, 5, 8) will face — either the left or right wall — and keep it consistent across every panel in the installation. It doesn’t matter which wall you choose, as long as all panels face the same way.

1×4 Cut Panels
The cut edge should always face the wall so the cut line isn’t visible. Before mounting, think about where your cut panels will sit as this determines the PCB direction for the entire installation.
For example, if your cut panels sit on the left side, the PCB will naturally face the right wall — every other panel in the installation should then also have its PCB facing the right wall.
If you have cut panels on both sides of the installation, one side will need to be rotated 180 degrees — the setup wizard will take care of this automatically during configuration.

2×2 Panels
With 2×2 panels, think of it as two continuous rows running across the whole installation — one row for odd numbers, one for even. Keep those consistent as you mount. If a panel needs to be cut, the cut edge should face the wall. Any rotated panels can be corrected in the WLED 2D config afterwards.
