Multi-Core Side-Emitting with Wire Tension Fibre Cable
A 13.50 mm diameter side-emitting fibre cable with an internal steel tension wire, insulated in a clear UV-protected sheath. The fibre cores are made from PMMA (PolyMethylMethAcrylate) and transmit cold light from an illuminator with no electricity or heat in the cable itself.
The internal wire core allows this cable to be suspended between fixing points for hanging light features, crystal chandelier installations, and long-span applications up to 30 metres. The wire carries the structural load while the fibre carries the light, emitting a 360° neon-like glow along the full cable length.

How far can this cable span between fixing points?
The internal steel tension wire supports spans of up to 30 metres between fixing points without sagging. For longer runs, use intermediate fixings or several cable sections driven from the same illuminator.
Is it safe to use around pools and spas?
Yes. The fibre carries light only, not electricity, so there is no electrical risk in wet areas. The clear sheath is chlorine and saltwater resistant and UV protected for outdoor installations.
Do I need an illuminator as well as the cable?
Yes. Fibre optic cable transmits light but does not generate it. Every installation needs a fibre optic illuminator at one end of the run to feed light into the cable.
Can crystals or fittings be hung from the cable?
Yes. The steel tension core carries the structural load, so crystal fittings and decorative elements can be mounted along the cable run without placing stress on the fibre itself.
Is the cable sold in fixed lengths?
No. It is cut to order in 1 metre increments with a 1 metre minimum, so you buy only the length your project needs. Set the quantity to the number of metres required.
How is this different from standard side-emitting cable?
Standard side-emitting strip light cable is more flexible and suits surface-mounted or channelled runs. This version adds an internal steel wire so the cable can be suspended in free air across an open span.
