Fittings are the finishing layer of a fibre optic installation. They hold the fibre at the light point, control how the light disperses, and determine how the installation looks once it is finished.
LightEFX supplies stainless steel and PVC fittings for pools, pool surrounds, pathways, decking and ceilings. Pool wall fittings are available threaded for fibreglass shells and non-threaded for concrete, with a 30 degree or 60 degree lens depending on how tightly the beam needs to be controlled. Paver fittings sit flush in surrounds and walkways for ground-level lighting. Downlight kits and cable ducts complete the run from illuminator to light point.
Because fibre optic cable carries light rather than electricity, none of these fittings are electrical equipment. There is no IP rating to satisfy at the light point and no current in the water, which is why fibre optic fittings are specified for permanently submerged positions where conventional lighting cannot go.
