What makes this different

An addressable, high-density COB strip engineered for architectural specification — not a generic wholesaler product.

Most LED strips on the market are simple RGB or RGBW with static colour zones. Our specification strips are addressable (IC-driven), enabling pixel-level and segment-level control for gradients, animations, and precise scene tuning. Combined with COB (chip-on-board) construction, you get a dotless, uniform line of light ideal for coves, joinery, and architectural reveals.

IC Addressable
Pixel / segment-level effects, animation, and scene tuning.
COB Dot-Free
High density for a uniform, dotless line of light.
Ecosystem Ready
Synchronise with StarEFX ceilings and tuneable-white downlights.

Where it fits

  • Ceiling coves + recesses — continuous perimeter glow (RGBIC / RGBWIC scenes).
  • Joinery + cabinetry — shelves, wine displays, reception desks, feature walls.
  • Healthcare + sensory rooms — gentle gradients, motion cues, low-glare night scenes.
  • Home theatre + media rooms — matched ceiling + perimeter colour, animated ambience.
Specifier note

You can specify the strip into your own extrusion / track system, or we can recommend a suitable profile based on mounting depth, diffuser type, ingress rating, and service access.

Track / profile pathways

Option 1

Use your preferred profile

Provide the internal channel width + diffuser style and we will confirm compatibility (PCB width, heat path, bend radius, serviceability).

Typical checks: channel width, diffuser distance, thermal path, cut points, feed points.
Option 2

LightEFX specified profile

If you want a clean, repeatable outcome, we can specify a profile type appropriate to the condition (recessed, surface, corner, plaster-in) and coordinate diffuser selection for dotless results.

Strip options

Two addressable COB families cover most architectural requirements.

Protocols: SPI addressable
Families: WS2811 (RGBIC), WS2814 (RGBWIC)
Option A

COB RGBIC - Addressable (WS2811)

RGBIC
  • Input voltage: 12V or 24V
  • LED density: 864 LEDs/m
  • IC density: 24 ICs/m
  • Power: ~13W/m (12V) or ~26W/m (24V)
  • PCB width: depends on IP rating (e.g. indoor vs sealed)

Best when the requirement is dynamic colour, gradients, motion cues, and strong saturation. Ideal for perimeter reveals, joinery lines, and feature lighting that needs animation.

Option B

COB RGBWIC - Addressable (WS2814)

RGBWIC
  • Input voltage: 24V
  • LED density: 784 LEDs/m
  • Power: 21W/m
  • CRI: Ra > 90
  • Addressable segment: 71.42mm per controllable section
  • PCB width: 10mm

Best when the specification benefits from a dedicated white channel while still keeping addressable control for scenes, gradients and visual cues.

Electrical design notes

Planning

Power injection planning

Addressable COB strips are higher density and can be higher wattage — plan feed points to manage voltage drop, especially on long runs and high output scenes.

Control

Control architecture

These are SPI addressable families (WS2811 / WS2814). Specify controller compatibility and locate the controller where data line integrity and servicing is practical.

Thermal

Thermal path

For longevity and consistency, mount to an aluminium profile or thermally suitable substrate. Avoid running high power scenes while the strip remains rolled.
